History of Giving

Helping Our Community

In October of 1958 the Salvation Army opened a corps in St. Charles. Arthur (Art) C. Baue had serves as the chairman of the Salvation Army’s local extension committee. Art Baue was instrumental in securing a location and bringing together community members to establish a location and the opening of a corps.

Each Year in December, the Baue family rings the bell for the Salvation Army in honor of our mom and grandmother Jill Baue. Her birthday was on Christmas Eve so we make it our day to remember her and the many times she stood outside local grocery stores each December and rang the bell to collect for our local St. Charles County Salvation Army Corps.

Veterans

In honor of all veterans in our community, the Baue family has worked tirelessly to ensure they are not forgotten. All veterans past, present and future are the heart of what ensures our freedom and way of life.

Seniors

The Baue family works tirelessly supporting seniors in our community. We host themed luncheons to keep them connected to friends and provide a positive social gathering. These luncheons have included dressing in character, bands, food and special entertainment. In the past we have also organized trips and outings to area attractions.

Each year the Baue family has supported the organization through projects and programs, such as placing a flag on each Veteran’s grave at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
